Now keeping the universal online trend in mind I would like to bring out an analysis on visitor tend on iPOTT. I surely see an emerging pattern in this. Here are some facts born from the trend observed on iPOTT. 1. MAINSTREAM VS NICHE PRODUCTSThe search or hits for a product depends on; if it is mainstream or niche product, this is the global trend irrespective of the mode of exposure. The same is true with iPOTT. The mainstream software will get visitors from wider demographics hence more hits. The Niche Products have a narrow demographics so lesser hits. So a HR product will have more visitors in comparison to Portable billing application. 2. HORIZONTAL MARKET VS VERTICAL MARKETThe market which is being serviced by the product is also very critical. Again horizontal markets generate more visitors than the vertical market targeted products. Eg. A antivirus for mobile application will have more market than a mobile application for a blackberry. Another example could be a mainstream product like ERP but catering to a single vertical Textile industry. It cannot be expected that ERP & ERP for textiles will have the same hit count. 3. MARKET NEEDIrrespective of the fact that the product is niche or mainstream the need of the market defines visitors to a software product. Indian Market currently is broadly grouped into three with reference to software requirements. Business with digitization need and business with improvisation needs and business with expansion plans. a. The first group of businesses are getting into digitization and are looking for the basic software. Every company begins with Finance and then HR. Other than companies the individuals form a major segment of visitors to the site. They visit for thirst of information and also to download application and tools. The huge hit rate to multimedia category is due to this segment. This segment is a huge potential segment as they get easily converted to business hits as they refer the products to their work space & superiors or they themselves refer it iPOTT for their business. Hence this segment is not to be ignored. Visitors /clicks come from all segments and hence the click to your software is dependent on what they are looking for. The graphs below will give an insight to the above three points in discussion..
