Every time we introduced ourselves ”we are a startup, iPOTT Softech India, we….” before we could finish we got one those “ohh.. here goes another software company” looks. It would take us another para to bring the fact to life that we are not just another software company… A company’s name makes a first impression that lasts for the long-term. It is a critical fact that when company naming makes the wrong impression, it’s time for a change. We did not want to be just another software company. We wanted to break this thinking. We have been introducing innovative services. We are catering to both the business and customer markets. It become critical for the company name to reflect our vision. Also the name has to be a differentiator, like the very concept and nature of business conducted. The new company name is expected to relate to the company’s business.
The new name of iPOTT Softech India Private Limited will be as follows: The Name explained: iPOTT:Etymology states that the word Pot originated from the word ‘Pottus’ or ‘Pott’. Its origins are said to be Romanic or ancient English and French. The word Pottus was used to identify any ‘item’ or ‘thing’ in large quantity available in one place. There were money potts, food potts etc. Down the line the word ‘pott’ was used to identify the ‘vessel’ or ‘container’ and the more condensed form today is ‘pot’. We correlate our identity with the ancient ‘pott’ depicting a large number of ’software’ and ’software information’ available in one ‘place’ – our online Store. SaiaS:iPOTT was born with an objective to make ‘SOFTWARE AVAILABILITY & INFORMATION ACCESSIBILITY’ Veracity. This objective of SOFTWARE AVAILABILITY & INFORMATION ACCESSIBILITY (Saia) is now being included in the name of the company. We would like to elaborate the differentiating factor in the words ‘availability’ & ‘accessibility’ as they are in line with our BHAG. Availability relates to our vision to be the largest source of software and software information. Accessibility will be our future objective to make the available information easily accessible. Accessibility will include easy search, user friendliness & accessibility as per global standards standards. iPOTT SaiaS will be pronounced as iPOTT ‘sai-as’ will sound like ‘sai (say) es (yes)’ If its iPOTT.. you got to say yes :-) |
